Jairo Lopez

Immigration Paralegal

Jairo Lopez is a Immigration Paralegal and Certified Notary Public with extensive experience in both EOIR and USCIS matters. As the longest-serving paralegal at the firm, he brings advanced case management skills, deep institutional knowledge, and a client-centered approach to complex immigration cases. His commitment to immigration advocacy is rooted in his own lived experience as a first-generation American raised by a single undocumented mother, giving him a unique understanding of the struggles many clients face.

Jairo Lopez  plays a key role in family-based petitions, humanitarian applications, and deportation defense. With years of hands-on experience, he manages a wide range of immigration matters, including asylum, cancellation of removal, hardship waivers, adjustment of status, consular processing, and NVC coordination. Colleagues and clients rely on Jairo for his accuracy, diligence, and ability to provide clear, compassionate guidance through highly sensitive and complex situations. As a Certified Notary Public, he also assists clients with the execution of important immigration-related legal documents.

As a first-generation American raised by a single undocumented mother, Jairo understands the fear, uncertainty, and systemic barriers immigrants often experience. This personal history fuels his dedication to immigrant advocacy and informs the trauma-sensitive, client-centered approach he brings to every case. His experience working with homeless and high-risk populations has further strengthened his ability to connect with individuals facing hardship, trauma, or instability, ensuring they feel understood, respected, and empowered throughout the legal process.

Jairo began his education at Bristol Community College in 2017 before transferring to the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 2019, where he is pursuing his B.A. in Political Science part-time with an expected graduation in 2027. His commitment to leadership and service is reflected in his receipt of the 2016 South Coast Youth Conservation Corps Charles Eliot Environmental Leadership Award and the 2018–2019 Bristol Community College President’s Volunteer Service Award (Gold). After completing his bachelor’s degree, Jairo plans to attend law school and continue his lifelong goal of serving immigrant communities as an Immigration Attorney.
